The Schottenring is a part of the Wiener Ringstrasse and was named after the Schottenstift founded in 1155.

Here are some impressions of the skyline of Vienna, seen from Schottenring 33. Furthermore some pictures of buildings at the Schottenring. The present Landespolizeidirektion Wien at Schottenring 7-9 is located where the Ringtheater burned down in 1881 and where the Sühnehaus was built afterwards, which itself was heavily damaged in 1945. Next to it is the Hotel DeFrance on Schottenring 5 on the left and the Hilton Plaza on Schottenring 11 on the right.
